Equal time?

The Duncans, whom I mentioned in my previous posts, have been in contact with me, asking me to publish their point of view here.  Wendy Duncan wrote me, and commented that, "All truth is God's truth." I believe her words were meant to motivate, and maybe challenge me to post her views on this blog.

My response is simple: That's not what this blog is for.

There are apparently many venues created by the RA bloggers in their zeal to pursue and denigrate the Honor Academy that accept hostile opinions about Teen Mania and the Honor Academy internship.  This blog is a place to publish good news, and for parents to talk about how God has worked in our kids' lives. Through the ministry's commitment to connecting the dots between today's ever-changing young generation's world and God's timeless call to holiness and salvation in Christ, our kids are learning the gospel in a way that is real, and builds character and the kingdom in their hearts and lives.

So to the Duncan's and others, I would like to say this. Yes, all truth comes from God, but all opinions don't. And all information that's accepted as truth, even when supported by a level of scientific research, isn't truth. (Take evolution for example.)  Although our experience of a situation may be true to us, our experiences aren't the definition of truth either. God's words are the definition of truth, and that Truth is most clearly seen in his Son.  So let's treat each other as if Jesus is in the room, quietly watching. We can talk, disagree, and still love one another. God  promises when we do, He will get involved and work out the things about which we may disagree. (see 1 Cor 4.3-6)  It's when we argue, fight, and strive to get our own way that we start wars and set things on fire by the very flames of hell itself. ( see James 3.6 - 4.12) Our responsibility is to remain humble, teachable, and treat others in a way that reflects both his truth and his character.

In Christ
